Serpentine Dancing Bird Goddess Seal
Adapted in both material and design from the picture of a seal-stone documented by Marija Gimbutas, this Mycenean replica is made from a piece of pale serpentine through which winds a green spiral. A Bird Goddess or her priestess dances her timeless dance, costume swirling about her. Cooled sealing wax will not stick to this polished stone, making it invaluable to the early Mediterranean cultures who depended upon such devices to secure their trade goods and commercial agreements.
