Silver Dining Ware

We are pleased to announce both a new line of dining ware and two new designers, Annie and Mandy Shinn!
This dining ware is sized for small hands, yet is very substantial material. The bowls, or porringers, weigh almost a pound; I used a special technique to form each one from a single sheet of sterling silver. There are no soldered joints on the porringers; the handles are part of the original material. These come with either one or two handles. Diameter of serving bowls: about 5 inches. The handles are a good size for little hands and are lightened by pierced designs. Unlike lightweight bowls, these will last almost indefinitely with reasonable care, and, because of the balanced weight, can be carried easily by a toddler.
The cups are made in a fashion reminiscent of the style of the Sixteenth Century. They do have hard soldered joints, but include a solid handle. A monogram is appliqued to the front of each cup. Height: about 3 inches. Capacity is about 3/4 cup. Very good shape for small hands.
Finally, we have the spoons, hand hammered from heavy sterling sheets. Each is almost 5 inches long. Again, these have appliqued monograms.
Annie Shinn designed the "Bunny Bowl" (one handle) for herself at age 3 and drew the Bunny appliqued to both her cup and spoon.
Mandy Shinn designed the "Monkey Bowl" (two handles) for herself at age 3 and the Monkey appliqued to her cup and spoon.
Naturally, the exact pieces in the picture above will never be sold, but we will duplicate these items for you. You may choose either one of our new little designers to draw a pattern for you or use your own.
These are true heirloom pieces, meant to be used generation after generation. Wouldn't you like us to make a set for some special child in your life? (Larger adult pieces can be done on a special commission.) Consider these for christening gifts, a first Christmas, or an early birthday. Consider that these will still be useable long after most plastics have crumbled into dust. If you need additional details, please do not hesitate to contact us.
